The Boss is Back!

Last Thursday, at the Harvard Square theatre, I saw my rock'n'roll past flash before my eyes. And I saw something else: I saw rock and roll future and its name is Bruce Springsteen. And on a night when I needed to feel young, he made me feel like I was hearing music for the very first time.

I appreciate Springsteen's effort to show us that music can rock hard and angry and still be good music instead of shrill screaming and screeching. He and the band (Patti Scialfa included) could also beat the crap out of any of the whiny pop boy bands on the radio.

10-sec video review: always good to see the band in action, but if we're going to get the street shots, I'd like to see a little more narrative. There are a couple good shots, like the couple embracing, but most feel like unfocused stock footage, not adding to the meaning of the presentation... unless we are to take that seeming randomness and emptiness as a metaphor for the droning emptiness the author hears on corporate conformist radio.

Thanks for the link!

Bruce Springsteen does give quality performnaces no one can den that even if they're not a fan of his music, you just can't deny his energy on stage.
